That sound you hear

21 10 2007

…is the weeping sound of a knitter who has only one project left on her WIP list. Which, in a week when running around in circles and passing out in hyperventilation in the middle of the living room floor sounded pretty good, is awesome news.

Judy’s Grandmother’s Baby Sweater, from Greetings from the Knit Cafe, on KnitPicks Shine Sport in Orchid, 3.75mm needles. The honeycomb stitch looks pretty sleek and all in all this is a darned cute little sweater. Hopefully the (98th percentile in height, so her parents report) recipient’ll get a few months wear out of it.

Icarus and I have mended fences. Glenna has brokered a peace treaty which allows me to knit one more repeat of Chart 1 before starting the feathers. The shawl is cooperating and only spat out one mistake at me. I’ve decided that these many mistakes I’m collecting along the way will be left in because the only way I’d go back and fix them would involved a locked padded room to spite it.

Cute sweater, I’ve not seen that pattern before.

I fear that the peace with Icarus is a very tentative one – I hope it can last to the end :)

i am jealous of your Icarus. mine is still shoved in a corner of the yarn stash where i occasionally hiss at it.

Well, Ms.M, that IS one very cute little sweater!
(Did you spend the weekend ‘green’ with envy whilst Glenna was off at Rhinebeck?…. I know I did)

Very cute!

Go you, whip that shawl’s two-ply toosh (and no one but you will see the mistakes anyway and apparently blocking covers a myriad of sins…)
